DEE’S FAVORITE

The rainbow cookie.

Rainbow cookies were the thing I missed most when I went vegan. I grew up eating them on Long Island, and I wasn’t ready to give them up.

It took some experimenting to make a vegan version I was happy with. They’re still my favorite.

WHY I BAKE THIS WAY

Food, animals, and the way I was raised.

It started with my mom.

She taught me about nutrition and paying attention to what we eat. That’s stayed with me in every recipe I make.

I’ve always loved animals.

Choosing to bake vegan is one way I act on that. I want to share food that reflects how much I care about them.

Ingredients matter.

I want organic, non-GMO ingredients to be the foundation of this bakery. Caring about food also means caring about where it comes from.

Deanna Lopez

Most people call me Dee. I grew up on Long Island, where my mom taught me about nutrition and caring for the planet. I’ve always loved animals, and I’ve always loved feeding people.

Baking brings those things together for me. I get to work out how to make the foods I love with plant-based ingredients, then share them with someone else.

I started sharing my baking years ago. Now I want more people to try it, whether they’re vegan or just looking for a really good cookie.
